Africa Aims to Launch Cape-to-Cairo Free Trade Area

African leaders have agreed to launch negotiations to establish a grand Free Trade Area including 26 countries in three regional economic communities - the Common Market for East and Southern Africa, the East African Community and the Southern African Development Community.

Long lines of trucks at African border crossings signal the need for easier movement of goods between countries. These trucks are are at Kenya’s Malaba control point at the Ugandan border.
