Jailed Ethiopian Journalist On Hunger Strike

Reeyot Alemu was awarded the 2013 Guillermo Cano World Press Freedom Prize: The imprisoned critical columnist has gone on hunger strike to protest a decision to restrict her visitors.

Journalist Reeyot Alemu, currently serving a five-year jail term in Ethiopia, was awarded the Guillermo Cano World Press Freedom Prize for 2013.
