U.S.$800 Million Bribe Alleged in Nigeria's Malabu Oil Case
The government has filed two separate charges against former attorney general Mohammed Adoke, former petroleum minister Dan Etete and three oil companies over an alleged U.S.$801 million bribe.This comes as an investigation revealed that two payments of U.S.$400 million each were the spoils of a huge deal to develop a Nigerian oilfield involving Shell, its joint venture partner the Italian oil giant Eni, and the government in Abuja.
