Egypt, South Africa Take 2018 Player of the Year Awards

Mohamed Salah is CAF's African Player of the Year for 2018, while South Africa's Thembi Kgatlana was voted African Women's Player of the Year 2018 and won the CAF Goal of the Year. Last year Salah, 26, became the first Egyptian player to win the best player award since the introduction of the event in 1992, and he has now joined the list of the few players who have won two awards in a row.  Banyana Banyana coach Desiree Ellis was named the CAF Women's National Team Coach of the Year 2018.

South Africa's Thembi Kgatlana named African Women's Player of the Year.

Legends like Samuel Eto’o, El Hadji Diouf, Titi Camara, Mark Fish, Anthony Baffoe, Kanu Nkwankwo, Mercy Akide, Perpetua Nkwocha, Adjoa Bayor and Thembi Kgatlana were given an introductory history of Goree Island in Senegal before the 2018 CAF Awards.
