President Jacob Zuma has thrown his weight behind a KwaZulu-Natal proposal, that in the case of two ANC Presidential nominees, the loser becomes Deputy President. Speaking at the closing of the ANC's policy conference at Nasrec south of Johannesburg, President Zuma said he will take this campaign to the provinces, including the expansion of the top 6. The president believes this is the best way to deal with factionalism and it's consequences.
