Major Blow for Zimbabwe as Giant Gold Producer Stops Operations
The country's third biggest gold producer RioZim has closed three of its mines as the acute shortage of foreign currency continues to bite the mining sector. Earlier, the firm threatened legal action against the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, accusing the Central Bank of not releasing the foreign currency the company earns from gold deliveries.
