African Sports Feeling the Pinch as COVID-19 Halts Events

COVID-19 has impacted all facets of life around the world. Not just economically or through social distancing but also through sport, a great unifier that normally brings people from all walks of life together. Therein lies the problem though, as the coronavirus is spread through droplets from person to person and would cause a major outbreak far worse than what the world is currently experiencing if such events were allowed to continue. Sports people who rely on tournaments and tours for their income and sporting bodies in various countries are experiencing the financial strain on a large scale as sponsorships also dwindle.
