Mozambican Forces Claim Deaths of Over 100 Militants

Mozambique's defence and security forces, made up of the police and the military, have killed 108 insurgents in a series of attacks in Cabo Delgado. Meanwhile, authorities in Muidumbe district have ordered all public employees, who abandoned their posts earlier in the year because of the attacks to return to work, adding that those who don't show up will be marked absent, and their wages docked. An insurgent group has been launching deadly raids in Cabo Delgado, home to various multi-billion dollar gas projects, since October 2017, forcing more than 300,000 people to flee.
