Liberians Want Free Vote But Mistrust Elections Body - AB Poll

As Liberians prepare to vote on October 10, a new poll by Afrobarometer found that only a third of respondents trust the National Elections Commission to manage a successful poll, a 10% drop since 2018. In the fourth election since the end of the country's devastaing civil war in 2003, voters will be choosing a president and vice president, 15 senators, and 73 members of the House of Representatives.

"More than three-quarters (78%) of respondents say that once an election is over, the losing side should accept defeat and cooperate with the government to help it develop the country, rather than focus on monitoring and criticising the government to hold it accountable," Afrobarometer reported..
