Protesters Outside Kenyan Parliament Killed - Finance Bill Passed

At least, 20 people were killed and dozens injured in Kenya during protests against tax hikes. The police clashed with demonstrators who had entered the parliament compound in Nairobi.

Activists Boniface Mwangi and Eastleigh Voice's Hanifa Adan tweeted that protesters should "go home". 

Several people were reportedly shot during today's protests against the Finance Bill passed in Parliament hours ago. There is also live Reuters footage of City Hall burning as protesters entered Parliament grounds and MPS were evacuated.

Lawmakers passed the controversial Finance Bill which sparked protests on the streets of Nairobi and Mombasa.

Five people were shot dead and dozens wounded in Kenya on Tuesday in mounting anti-tax hike protest.

Protesters gained entry into Parliament on June 25, 2024, after MPs passed the controversial Finance Bill. Police opened fire killing at least 4 protesters, CapitalFM reported. Many others were injured.
