More Liberians Want War And Economic Crimes Court - Afrobarometer

Findings from the survey conducted by Afrobarometer and local partners, show an increase in support for the court since President Joseph Boakai set up an Office for War and Economic Crimes "compared to 2022".

Respondents showed particular interest in the prosecution of individuals responsible for atrocities during the civil war twenty years ago.

More than 200,000 people were killed during both rounds of the Liberian civil war, which spanned from 1990 to 2023.
