Aviation Workers Suspend Strike After Deal With Kenya Govt

In a statement, the Kenya Airports Authority said it signed a return-to-work formula with the Kenya Aviation Workers Union (KAWU), ending the Air Traffic Control staff strike that had disrupted operations at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

The strike by the Kenya Aviation Workers Union (KAWU) had caused widespread delays at airports across the country, leaving stranded passengers awaiting updates from airlines. Union officials said the industrial action was triggered by unresolved grievances, including poor working conditions, delayed salary payments, and concerns regarding ongoing restructuring within the aviation sector.
