Rethink Economic Models, Says Ruto at Africa Forward Summit

Speaking at the Africa Forward Summit, which brought together heads of state, including French President Emmanuel Macron, global investors, and policy leaders, President William Ruto said Africa can no longer remain a passive participant in international systems where key decisions are made without its equal voice.

Presidents William Ruto and Emmanuel Macron kicked off the inaugural Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi, marking the first time France co-hosts such an event with an English-speaking African nation.

The summit is expected to provide a platform to strengthen Africa-France cooperation and advance dialogue on trade, investment, innovation, and sustainable development. The two-day summit is expected to welcome 30 heads of state.

Meanwhile, Kenya and France have signed 11 agreements to strengthen cooperation in transport, infrastructure, trade, energy, digital technology, health, and education following talks between President William Ruto and President Emmanuel Macron.

French President Emmanuel Macron and his host, William Ruto, are expected to showcase their growing partnership as co-chairs of the African Forward Summit, which will focus on security cooperation, economic investment, and green energy.
