Gang warfare has plagued people living on the Cape Flats for decades. These are just some of the statistics going around at the time the military was called in: 2 000 people killed in the first half of 2019, up to 47 people murdered in stabbings and shootings in one weekend, with Bishop Lavis, Mitchells Plain, Delft, Elsies River, Nyanga, Khayelitsha, Mfuleni, Philippi, Kraaifontein and Manenberg being named as the most dangerous. allAfrica.com and Bush Radio want to know what the next steps are, how to build the peace that we need in our communities, especially as the impact of gang violence, and the raw emotions around violence against women and xenophobic attacks are sweeping South Africa. Join us on Thursday, September 12, at 12pm on Bush Radio for a discussion with experts and community workers. Be heard - SMS 32158 and Whatsapp 27 61 862 1065 now, or call the studio on 27 21 448 6266 on Thursday after 12pm. This collaboration is made possible by a grant from the Carnegie Corporation of New York
