U.S. Steps Up Pressure for Sudanese Peace

President Barack Obama is being briefed daily on the Sudanese peace process as the United States pushes for South Sudan's independence vote to be held on schedule.

The U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Johnnie Carson, has laid down the conditions under which the Obama administation would renew diplomatic ties with Sudan.
