West Africa Leaders Agree On Burkina Poll Timetable
The leaders of the Economic Community of West African States, Ecowas agreed on the immediate lifting of the suspension of the constitution and holding of presidential and legislative elections within 12 months in Burkina Faso. This follows the visit by President Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria, Macky Sall of Senegal and John Mahama of Ghana to Ouagadougou to press the army to cede power to a civilian leader.
