South African Police Chief's Court Appeal Fails, Ntlemeza is Out!
Bening Ntelemeza was head of the Hawks, a priority crimes investigation unit at the South African Police Services. His appeal to remain in his job was turned down after the courts found that his appointment was unlawful and invalid. The Minister of Police Fikile Mbabalula has decided that the government will not appeal the court's decision and a new Acting Chief Yolisa Matakata has been appointed.
