U.S. Company Lobbies Kenya For High-Speed Motorway Contract

U.S. contractor Bechtel has told the Treasury that the U.S.$3 billion Nairobi-Mombasa expressway will over 25 years generate nearly twice the money spent on the project. Motorists are expected to cruise uninterrupted on the six-lane highway at speeds of up to 120km per hour, halving travel time to four hours.
