Africans Convene Experts to Protect Great Lakes

Africa's Great Lakes span ten countries, provide over 25 percent of the earth's fresh water and are critical to the livlihoods of over 62 million people, according to the African Center for Aquatic Research and Education. At a meeting in Kisumu, Kenya from 6-8 February 2024, the annual meeting of the The African Great Lakes Stakeholder Network brought together African and North American scientists to share research and pool ideas for protecting the precious water resources.
