U.S. Sanctions 'Those Who Threaten Peace' in Burundi

The White House has imposed sanctions on top government security and opposition officials in Burundi over the unrest in the African nation. The Executive Order is inteneded to block assets of government supporters and oposition leaders "who have contributed to the ongoing crisis."

 

Protests have continued in Burundi, as political tensions mount.
