The competition remains fierce with dozens of African teams vying for the nine spots reserved fro the region - an increment from the previous five - at the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be held in the U.S..Mexico and Canada.

Other matches to look out for on Friday include Burkina Faso vs. Djibouti in Group A, DR Congo vs. South Sudan in Group B, and Burundi vs. Côte d'Ivoire in Group G.
