Opposition leader Raila Odinga has accused the government of "masterminding" the deaths of several people in the Nairobi area. There are conflicting reports on the death toll - it's been said that four, five and 11 people died. The killings sparked violent protests during which angry residents set three vehicles alight, and police shot teargas and opened fire on protesters. Deputy President William Ruto has asked all citizens to "reject those spreading hatred, incitement, ethnicity, confusion and division".
Teargas is used to disperse protesting youths at Baba Dogo area in Nairobi on November 19, 2017.
