Sepsis Leading Cause of Death in Newborns In Tanzania - Study
The rate of sepsis among newborns in Dar es Salaam hospitals is estimated between 25% and 30 % and is among the leading causes of death in newborns countrywide . These deaths occur in unsafe birth environments, where there is little access to water, sanitation and good hygiene, says a statement issued by WaterAid Tanzania, Simavi, and the National Institute for Medical Research.
