Nigeria Demands Action After Protests, Deaths in South Africa

The Nigerian government has formally demanded a transparent investigation and full disclosure of findings to ensure justice for the two Nigerians killed in South Africa, calling on South Africa to take concrete steps to protect Nigerians living lawfully in the country and restore confidence.

The statement came after a closed-door meeting between the countries' diplomats aimed at "formally convey the Nigerian Government's profound concern" about the "mistreatment of Nigerian citizens and their businesses" in anti-immigrant protests by some South Africans.
