8 More Illegal Miners Found Dead in South Africa

An additional 8 illegal miners have been found dead in Benoni east of Johannesburg this afternoon, bringing to 14 the number of Zama Zamas killed in the same area in the last 24 hours. Police say the bodies were found at Unity street, New Modder, Benoni. Preliminary investigations suggest that the illegal miners were killed with sharp objects or shot before their bodies were dumped. The motive for the murders remain unknown and the deceased are yet to be identified.
