'Palm Oil Company Destroys Liberian Shrines' - Report

The new report by the international campaign group, Global Witness, comes fifteen months after they alleged that Liberians had been beaten, threatened and arrested for taking a stand against Golden Veroleum LIberia, one of the country's largest investors in the palm oil sector. Golden Veroleum said the report contains "erroneous claims" and assertions that "are incomplete and not representative of the facts on the ground."

The Emergency Response Unit (ERU) was first dispatched to the Golden Veroleum LIberia plantation in May 2015 to pacify protests over staff’s working conditions
